Perspectives on human and technological interactions will now be explored
Techno-anthropologists Emilie Waage Nielsen, Johannes van den Heuvel and Sofie Venneberg are now on board the IRE project together with anthropologist Birgitte Bruun.
Our project will leverage a new generation of intelligent robots capable of interacting with the human body using data, simulation, and learning while maintaining communication with a human operator. By enhancing current endoscope technology with robotic control, the healthcare system can achieve faster detection of bowel cancer. Given the significant anatomical variations among patients, endoscopy is a complex navigational challenge even for experienced clinicians. Our robotic endoscope will minimize patient discomfort, thereby improving both the frequency and quality of examinations.
